I just wanted to say to anyone who drops by that we are looking for volunteers for walk day.
My family does not have a website set up on the ALS site for donations, but if you are interested in donating to our team you can contact me via email.
The address is frugalsearcher@excite.com. The Walk is June 14 - 2008 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
Happy Mother's Day.
Love you Mom!

mom and me
This was many years ago in the early 1980s. It does not show how beautiful Mom was, but it does show what a happy person she was. The colour had melded over time. I still like this pictue because it shows a Mom and daughter who love each other very much and who are happy to be in each others company.
My remembrance of my Mom on the eve of Mother's day.

The Walk this Year is June 14
This is the third year I have walked in this walk and helped to organize it.
This year the committee was looking to create a finish line experience.
I hope this blog will become an easy page to find for participants of the walk to find finish line photos to view and to down load as keepsakes if they wish.
It is my hope to have general photos of walk day posted here too.
The photos that I have to post here to experiment with are from walk day 2006. They are mostly shots of my brother, sister-in-law and nephew.
I can hardly believe its been over 3 years since my Mom was taken by this horrible disease. My Mom , Edna Hansen, was a great person for many reasons one of which was her love of lending a helping hand when ever she was able. I would like to call our team the "helping Hansens", but I am not the only one who gets an opinion about that.
My family walks to remember her and to help raise the funding needed to help those who are struck by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to research its cause.
Its seems fitting that the day before Mother's Day I am learning about something new which is a quality I believe I got from my Mom. She had a natural curiosity about life and things in general. She also embraced the new even if it meant doing away with the old.
Here's hoping those who this site is meant for will find it.
For general info about ALS or the walk you can go to als.ca .
